Maine Kayak seeks to make your kayaking vacation convenient and easy. Here’s advise on how best to prepare for your kayaking adventure.
Equipment Lists
To assist with your kayak trip planning, below you’ll find a list of recommended and optional items to make your day and overnight kayak trips more enjoyable, safe and comfortable.
Here is a list of items you will need to bring with you for your day trip or instruction:
- Change of clothes for after your trip
- Sunscreen
- Bathing suit and shorts
- 2 Water Bottles
- Hat and sunglasses + safety strap (available for purchase at Maine Kayak)
Optional Items:
- Light synthetic undergarment (polypropylene, bergalene, capilene) top & bottom
- Wetsuit (available free of charge upon request)
- Dry top and Paddling Pants (splash top available free of charge upon request)
- Booties/Wet shoes (Booties available free of charge upon request)
- Waterproof Camera
Required and Optional Items
Here is a list of items you will need to bring with you for your overnight trip:
- Change of clothes for each day of your trip
- Sunscreen
- Bathing suit and shorts
- 2 Water Bottles
- Hat and sunglasses + safety strap
- Personal toiletries and any personal medications
- Sleeping Gear for camping (sleeping pads and bags available free of charge upon request)
Optional Items:
- Light synthetic undergarment (polypropylene, bergalene, capilene) top & bottom
- Wetsuit (available free of charge upon request)
- Dry top and Paddling Pants (splash top available free of charge upon request)
- Booties/Wet shoes (Booties available free of charge upon request)
- Waterproof Camera
Maine kayak provides
Maine Kayak provides everything you need to have a safe and fun adventure.
- Transportation and shuttle from our meeting locations, as necessary
- On-water snacks
- Lunch on Full Day Trips and Whitewater Kayaking Courses; meals on Overnight Trips (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Island Camping Overnight Trips; Breakfast and Lunch on Inn to Inn Trips).
- Top-of-the-line Kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboards and equipment
- Life jacket and whistle
- Paddle
- Spray skirt or SUP leash
- Helmet and noseplugs (Whitewater Kayaking Courses)
- Splash Top, wetsuit, gloves and booties, if necessary or requested
- Camping equipment (tents, sleeping pads, sleeping bags) for Island Camping Overnight Trips
- Inn Lodging for our Inn to Inn Trips
